Dutch Delicacies Tours Our guide will explain all sightseeing on the way from your hotel, such as the origin of the polder land, the history and interesting details on small villages along the way, such as Broek in Waterland, Katwoude Monnickendam and Volendam. The tour leads to Edam where the guests will taste the first typical Dutch snack. The stroopwafel will be served by a local inhabitant wearing the traditional costume and clog-shoes. Possibility to take pictures with them and trying on the clog shoes, walk in Edam, tasting the famous Edam cheese (served with a typical Dutch drink bessenjenever) and after that the guests will have the choice of a bike ride or rather a drive by coach from Edam to Volendam. On the way more Dutch delicacies will be offered, such as herring with pickles and onions accompanied by a glass of jenever. Lunch location Lunch in a typical restaurant where the waitresses still wear the traditional costume. On the way back the group will have the chance to taste some typical Dutch sweets like liquorice and old Dutch candies as ‘zoethout’. These will be handed out by the guide. |
